Wound Measurement Device
Digital Imaging and Measurement for Wound Management

A low cost, high precision non-contact wound measurement device which improves wound measurement over current low and high tech devices. The system utilizes a commercially available platform and proprietary software to provide a portable, ease-to-use device. This instrument provides fast, accurate, and repeatable digital documentation of wound progress to enhance quality of care and validate payment from insurance/government for services rendered.

Sanitizer Sentinel
Simple and effective infection prevention

This simple, non-intrusive, inexpensive device easily and simply improves hand washing compliance and reduces instances of HAI. This patented technology melds a typical alcohol-based antiseptic dispenser with a simple passive infrared circuit detecting people entering or leaving a patient's room. Detection triggers an alarm that is disengaged by utilization of the antiseptic hand wash. Infection prevention benefits the bottom line. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented a new payment system effective October 1, 2008, which requires hospitals to eliminate a number of hospital-acquired conditions, including certain types of preventable infection. Increasingly, treatment for HAI will not be reimbursed by other payers as well. The Sanitizer Sentinel is a valuable tool to ensure compliance with hand washing guidelines.

3D Solar Power
Unique tower structures bounce sunlight to increase efficiency

Based on the idea that sunlight bounces off the towers in Manhattan, this ProofCo demonstrated the viability of using this design premise to increase efficiency. As with most category-buster technologies, even the definition of solar cell efficiency must be changed to accommodate this solar cell. We expect that this solar cell, when in full production, will demonstrate efficiencies in excess of 40%. The patent application for this technology covers any 3-D solar cell that will ever be made. The first applications will likely be aerospace and portable consumer products.

Titanium Dioxide Nano Wires
Breakthrough long nano fibers with high thermal stability

These titanium dioxide nano wires are extremely light, long and thin fibers. Unlike other TiO2 nano wires, they are 30 to 40 millimeters long (yes, this is not a mis-print) and have a diameter of 60 nanometers. The wires can withstand temperatures up to 700 degrees Celsius. These long nano wires can be directly cast into thermally stable, robust, and multifunctional free standing membranes (FSM) in both 2D paper and 3D devices (e.g., tube, bowl or cup) in nearly any macroscopic size and shape. The long TiO2 nano wires have high thermal stability and chemical inertness provide previously unattainable performance in high temperatures and other harsh environments. These properties are ready for a variety of applications, including chemical and water filtration. They also have applications in solar cells, drug delivery, fuel cells and high temperature non-woven textiles.

Rapid Routers
Advanced routing to speed network throughput (Visit www.rapid-routers.com)

Today's core and edge routers are having a difficult time maintaining network throughput speeds when packet sizes are small. Additionally, large address schema issues will only grow since IPv6 will use 128 bits of information compared to the current 32 bits. Congestion will build within the network as these packets route through the network and routing decisions cannot keep up. Rapid Routers solves this congestion problem by providing advanced routing algorithms which achieve the functions of faster, real-time look-ups for route choices and reduced amounts of memory access. This combination allows traffic to be delivered at per port speeds in excess of 1 Gbps. This technology also reduces the cost of memory as well. Furthermore, TCAM-based routers benefit with smaller size TCAM and reduced power consumption on similar-sized TCAMs.

Sub-Micron Thermal Imaging
Unprecedented spatial resolution

This technology advances the science of thermal imaging by using specially designed tips for an Atomic Force Microscope that provides resolution below one micron not thought possible before this invention. This breakthrough in spatial resolution of thermal analysis - much better than the current state of the art - has profound implications for the fields of Polymers and Pharmaceuticals where local thermal understanding of contaminant particles is key to quality control.
